I'm a certified in Menopause Yoga, Trauma-Informed Yoga and Hatha / Ayurveda Yoga through Yoga Alliance with over 500 hours of specialized training and teaching experience. Thanks to my teachers and the doors they have opened for me, I have facilitated yoga classes and workshops in studios, community settings (schools, jails, nonprofit boards) and online.

As a perimenopausal woman, I apply a first-hand experience of the bio-psycho-social experience of the menopause transition. It's not for the faint of heart! My personal yoga practice (amongst many other things!)  has been an absolute salve for navigating the chaos and unpredictability of my symptoms and overall quality of life.

I felt so alone in my experience but, thanks to 80 hours of menopause specific trainings, I came to understand that my sense of overwhelm, depression, sleep issues, muscle pain, night sweats, etc. were not unique to me, and yet again, so very unique to me!  I also came to realize that people with female sex hormones (women, nonbinary, trans people) deserve all the help they need to understand the challenges and opportunity of midlife reproductive aging.

I’m motivated by the power of how self-care can impact the care of the wider community. I'm propelled to always be a student of the mind-body connection, especially as it relates to nervous system regulation. I'm a vocal advocate for female health research, especially in midlife. As Italian neuroscientist, Dr. Lisa Mosconi says, "We are owed decades of research".

Please consider signing up for my newsletter to hear about workshops and stay up to date on menopause happenings and various revelations from my Blog. You can also follow me on Instagram @meant_to_pause_yoga or Bluesky @meant-to-pause.bsky.social

**I teach yoga through many lenses, as a first-generation immigrant who traded her native Irish language and culture for French Canada, and then again, adapting to American cultural and socio-economic political norms, as a parent, and as an able bodied white cis queer woman who continues to benefit from the privilege and opportunities that come with that.
